JOB SUMMARY: Train to perform quality basic Histology laboratory functions, which include processing of specimens, embedding and microtomy. ESSENTIAL FUNCTION: 1. Train to perform processing, embedding and microtomy. 2. Train to operate Histology laboratory equipment, instruments, and interfaces. Perform and document routine and periodic maintenance procedures. 3. Train to perform routine logging for QC/QA purposes. Recognize quality issues and take corrective action as needed or directed. 4. Train to perform basic troubleshooting, identify testing problems (QC, patient, interface or instrument) and notify appropriate supervisors for corrective action. 5. Successfully pass the competency and productivity requirements at the 6th week, 14th week and 26th week grading periods.
