About The Position

The Ohio State University at Newark seeks a 100% FTE 9/12 lecturer to teach History and Comparative studies courses with a focus on the history of health and/or medical humanities in the 2026-2027 academic year. Responsible for facilitation of in-class learning activities, assessments (i.e., quizzes, exams, and homework if applicable), offering of weekly office hours, submission of grades, and resolution of any ongoing student or course issues.

Requirements

  • PhD or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching History and Comparative Studies courses at the post-secondary level at a regional campus
  • Understanding of the unique needs of regional and non-residential students

  • Experience teaching History and Comparative Studies courses through the lens of the history of health and/or medical humanities

Responsibilities

  • Facilitation of in-class learning activities
  • Assessments (i.e., quizzes, exams, and homework if applicable)
  • Offering of weekly office hours
  • Submission of grades
  • Resolution of any ongoing student or course issues
  • Develop and deliver courses in formats that could include in classroom, online, or hybrid.
  • Contribute to the creation and improvement of course content.
