About The Position

We are seeking for a dynamic Sales Representative with a passion for historic preservation and the ability to build trusted relationships with preservation-minded clients. This role blends consultative sales with subject-matter expertise in historic buildings, materials, and restoration best practices. The ideal candidate understands that selling in this space isnt transactional—its about stewardship, education, and long-term value. You will serve as both a sales professional and a preservation advisor, helping clients identify solutions that respect the historic integrity of their properties while meeting modern performance and budget needs.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in sales, business development, or client-facing roles
  • Demonstrated knowledge of historic preservation, restoration, architecture, or related fields
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to translate technical preservation concepts into clear client value
  • Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Degree or coursework in Historic Preservation, Architecture, Architectural History, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Experience working with historic buildings, restoration projects, or specialty construction materials
  • Familiarity with preservation tax credits, grants, or regulatory review processes
  • Existing network within the preservation or architectural community

Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, and manage relationships with property owners, architects, preservationists, municipalities, and institutions
  • Generate new business through networking, referrals, site visits, and industry events
  • Prepare proposals, estimates, and presentations tailored to historic structures
  • Meet or exceed sales goals while maintaining ethical, consultative sales practices
  • Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, and client interactions in CRM systems
  • Advise clients on historically appropriate materials, methods, and treatments
  • Interpret and communicate preservation standards (e.g., Secretary of the Interiors Standards)
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure proposed solutions align with preservation requirements
  • Participate in site assessments to understand building conditions and historic context
  • Educate clients on long-term preservation value, compliance considerations, and sustainability
  • Work closely with project managers, architects, and craftspeople to align scope, pricing, and preservation goals
  • Represent the company at preservation conferences, community meetings, and industry organizations
  • Act as an advocate for preservation-sensitive approaches in all sales activities
