How you’ll contribute A Histology Technician who excels in this role: Performs procedures/ protocols in Cytology, Histology, and Pathology. Receives and assigns accession numbers to tissue and fluid specimens and logs them into the AP computer system. Processes curettings and routine TUR and bone marrow specimens. Reports any abnormal or suspicious appearing specimens. Prepares sections of body tissue specimens by fixation, decalcification, dehydration, and embedding for examination by a pathologist. Maintains work area in a safe, aseptic and organized manner. Performs and monitors quality control, calibration, and corrective/ preventative maintenance on equipment, instruments, and tests. Participates in the evaluation of new techniques/ instruments/ equipment and in researching/ developing new procedures. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree
  • ASCP or Equivalent Registry
