About The Position

Full Time (80 Hours/Biweekly) Shift: Days (6:30a-3:00p) Monday - Friday No weekend or Holiday rotation. General Summary Performs a variety of technical and general duties. Functions in one or more laboratory division. Responsibilities Essential Functions: Performs a variety of routine histology techniques in concurrence with established laboratory policies and procedures Supports the preparation of microscopic slides including tissue processing, paraffin block sectioning and H&E staining. Produces high-quality slides from frozen or fixed tissues, including trimming, embedding, processing, sectioning using a microtome/cryostat, and staining with appropriate stains. Performs equipment maintenance, reagent recycling/reclamation and efficient use of the pathology laboratory information system and specimen tracking system. Enters or retrieves data from established computer files. Maintains required records, reports, and statistics as directed. Qualifications Qualifications Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED Required Work Experience: Less than 1 year Relevant experience. Required Less than 1 year In medical field (willing to train). Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Good communication and computer skills.
