About The Position

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Histology Technician (ASCP-HT) to join a high-volume histology laboratory on the night shift. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise in embedding and microtomy and be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced acute care laboratory environment.

Requirements

• ASCP Histotechnician (HT) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent histology experience
• Proven expertise in embedding and microtomy in a high-volume laboratory
• Epic EMR experience required
• Pending state license accepted
• First-time travelers not accepted
• Local candidates within a 100-mile radius not accepted
• Ability to work independently on night shift

Responsibilities

• Perform tissue processing, embedding, and microtomy with accuracy and efficiency
• Prepare and section tissue samples using automated and manual microtomes and cryostats
• Embed a wide range of specimen types, including GI, skin, large and small specimens, fatty, and hard tissues
• Prepare paraffin wax sections and perform precision microtomy
• Prepare slides for staining, including Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E)
• Ensure proper labeling, handling, and processing of all histology specimens
• Accurately document procedures and results using EPIC/Excellian systems
• Maintain compliance with laboratory quality control, safety standards, and protocols
• Work independently during night shift operations
