Per Diem, Friday - Sunday 7am – 3:30pm Summary Performs a variety of clerical and technical duties under general supervision and reports to a Laboratory Supervisor. Responsibilities include receiving, accessioning, centrifuging, and decanting patient specimens, as well as communicating with clinicians at the front window and over the phone. Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- Previous laboratory, healthcare and/or customer service experience 1-2 years required
- Good interpersonal and communication skills so as to be able to interact effectively with individuals in the lab and the hospital.
- Ability to multitask and work accurately under stress of time constraints and heavy workload demands.
- Demonstrates excellent dependability, reliability, accuracy, prioritization ability, problem solving skills, customer service and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Assist with labeling, preservation, and fixation of specimens.
- Work closely with technologists to ensure specimens are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Monitor reagent and supply inventory.
- Organize patient specimens and assay worksheets or printouts for testing and technologist review.
- Use the laboratory information management system (LIMS) to upload documents and enter critical data or comments.
- Clean and maintain laboratory equipment.
