Fertitta Family College of Medicine at the University of Houston. Job Summary Participates in the day-to-day operations of the laboratory with regard to histology specimen processing. Processes and prepares patient tissue according to department procedures using technical knowledge. Supports continuous improvement of laboratory services to ensure high-quality and timely pathology for quality diagnosis.

Requirements

• Associates: Graduate of NAACLS accredited Histology program by ASCP
• HT certification: ASCP certified
• 3 Years of Experience
• Above average Verbal Communication (Heavy Public Contact)
• Writing/ Correspondence
• Writing/Reports
• MS Word
• MS Excel
• MS Outlook
• Medical Terms
• ASCP certification as a Histotechnician required
• Microtome, embedding center, processor, special stainer, immunohistochemistry (IHC) platform, cryostat, and Hematoxylin & Eosin stainer
