We are seeking a passionate and dedicated HiSET Instructor with strong technology skills to provide in-person instruction at our Chelsea location. In this role, you will prepare adult learners to successfully pass the HiSET exam while supporting their transition to college and/or career pathways. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, English, Language Arts, Reading, or related field (master’s preferred)
  • At least 1 year of experience teaching HiSET, GED®, or adult education (reading/writing/math)
  • Strong digital and technology skills
  • Understanding of adult education standards, assessments, and pathways
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations requiring intentional and supportive instruction
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Morning and afternoon availability preferred
  • Must be able to lift and/or carry teaching materials and supplies.
  • Position requires in-person instruction at our Chelsea location.
  • Additional hours may be required based on program needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engaging, in-person instruction to adult learners preparing for the HiSET exam. Instruction includes all topic areas of Language Arts, Science, Math and Social Studies.
  • Design and implement lesson plans using a variety of teaching strategies to support diverse learning styles
  • Create an inclusive and equitable classroom environment that promotes active learning and student success
  • Monitor student progress, track outcomes, and provide feedback to support goal achievement
  • Collaborate with internal teams to connect students with additional academic and support services
  • Work closely with Program Managers and team members to meet the academic and personal needs of students
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with program requirements
  • Adhere to all legal and ethical standards, including FERPA, ADA, and other applicable regulations
