Position Overview HIM Specialist ( Fully Onsite with potential opportunity to work remote) SUMMARY (BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB) Performs a variety of data management functions for the support of the HIM Department. Collects, organizes and reviews data on a routine basis. Presents results in a logical and organized format. Prepares monthly statistical information for performance tracking and improvement. Assures that relevant hospital information is accurate and timely by consistent review, monitoring, compiling data and performing any necessary revisions across interfaces. Assures Continuity of Care information is disseminated to next provider of care. Uses several electronic hospital EMR's to analyze and assign documentation deficiencies to facilitate accurate completion in accordance with Capital Health, hospital accreditation body, CMS and Department of Health regulations. Performs other patient care release of information and management support duties as assigned.
