The Health Information Management (HIM) Specialist is responsible and accountable for the timely and accurate release of patient health information, proper documentation and tracking of requests for information and providing personalized customer service to all requestors. Requirements

High School diploma or GED from an accredited program
2+ years of experience in a medical record department or confidential file room
Experience dealing with confidential information
CRT/PC knowledge/10 key
Knowledge of or ability to learn Release of Information for medical records
Demonstrated excellent customer service and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

1+ years in a medical record department’s ROI
Knowledge of the Kelsey-Seybold system
30 wpm typing
