Brentwood Behavioral Healthcare is seeking a dynamic and talented HIM/MEDICAL RECORDS SPECIALIST / TECH (PART-TIME) The Medical Records Support Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of medical records and release of information requests. This role plays a critical part in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and supporting the integrity of patient documentation. Key responsibilities include processing patient discharges within 48 hours, assigning ICD-9CM codes, abstracting medical data, and analyzing charts for completeness and compliance. The specialist also manages data entry into automated systems, files essential medical documents, and upholds strict confidentiality standards. Professional boundaries and effective communication with staff are essential to success in this role.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years experience in a psychiatric or CD inpatient, residential or group home

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in Health Information Management or related field, with HIM certification eligibility and relevant experience.
