HIMS/Medical Records Tech - Full time Job Summary: Assembles, analyzes, and abstracts medical records. Reconciles daily census report and maintains the Master Patient Index. Enters data into departmental computer system. Files miscellaneous reports. Retrieves records as requested. Responsible for the maintenance of the Permanent and Incomplete Record Area. Answers Department Telephones. Provides cross training and serves as a mentor to other Chart Analysts. Complies with hospital policies and procedures and state/federal regulations regarding confidentiality of records. Participates in employee orientation and on-the-job training. Participates in Performance Improvement activities – concurrent and retrospective chart reviews and other duties as assigned by the Medical Records Department Supervisor.
