About The Position

The HIM Technician is responsible for collecting charts from units, assembly & analysis of inpatient and outpatient charts, fulfillment of Release of Information requests, copying patient charts for audits, pulling charts for for units, assisting outside phone calls, filing, reviewing patient charts for accuracy and report errors to HIM supervisor/director, responsible for sending transition records to the continuing care provider. Assist in other daily departmental activities as required. It takes passion and dedication to meet the behavioral health needs of our community. Requirements

  • Prefer graduate of a medical records program
  • A minimum of (3) years in medical records
  • Proficient in Excel and Word
  • Able to type at a speed of 40 words per minute
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds to transfer files and boxes of charts
  • This individual must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Diplomacy and discretion are essential, as well as excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple projects
  • Professional demeanor and appearance required
