About The Position

This position is for a HIM Medical Records Analyst/Vital Statistics Specialist who is responsible for communication with the Providers at Liberty Regional Medical Center and all its entities and/ or the Director of HIM. The position also requires administrative functions necessary which include but are not limited to performing the day to day workflow that encompasses vigilantly analyzes the patient health record to identify misfiled documents, making certain all documentation scanned belongs in the appropriate medical record. Perform duties that include but not limited to identify deficiencies, data validation as well as administrative functions to maintain coverage of the department. Registering vital events, while maintaining accurate and up-to-date vital records. Reporting of Vital Route requests to the appropriate personnel/providers for completion. Confidentiality must be maintained at all times while communicating with medical staff, organization staff, patients, visitors, other departments and outside agencies. This position includes vital statistics reporting as well as updating logs and other reporting requirements. The position reports to the Director of Health Information Management/Privacy Officer.

Requirements

Equivalent to completion of two years of college with an associate’s degree required and or work experience preferred
Skills with experience in planning, organizing, implementing, verbal and written communications preferred.
Knowledge of and training in medical record assembling and analysis preferred.
Basic typing and computer skills with previous experience in hospital setting Health Information Management preferred.
