About The Position
Our Lady of Consolation is a proud member of Catholic Health and a recognized leader in providing exceptional quality driven care. We offer Long Term, Post-Acute and Skilled Nursing services. Our Lady of Consolation is located on the beautiful Great South Bay and is comprised of a 345-bed nursing and rehabilitative care center. Our nurses, physicians and support staff are devoted to providing patient driven health care in an environment of compassion to our patients, their families and our community. Our focus is to create a culture of healing and safety while upholding our religious mission. We are currently looking to expand our HIM Clerk team. This is a unique role that works within patient units to assure that documents and data is entered into the electronic medical record in a timely and efficient process. The HIM Clerk performs clerical and reception duties required for the functioning of the patient care unit.
Responsibilities
- Perform receptionist duties including but not limited to, answering and directing telephone calls to appropriate staff, receive and direct patients, staff and visitors, answer routine questions and or refer for appropriate answer to the RN, social worker, nutrition or nurse manager.
- Arrange routine patient appointments and transportation as necessary.
- Perform clerical tasks related to special consultant’s visits, special diagnostic procedures, and ambulatory surgery procedures.
- Notify appropriate staff and departments of any changes in schedules.
