About The Position
Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, the Health Information Management Analyst performs quantitative and qualitative analysis of physician documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
Requirements
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- Two or more years analytical and/or clerical experience in an acute care setting required
- Knowledge of medical terminology required
- Knowledge of and understanding of the requirements for complete medical records, per hospital, medical staff, Joint Commission, CMS, and other federal and state guidelines required
- Knowledge of HIPAA and privacy regulations required to complete appropriate release of patient health information
- local residency required
Nice To Haves
- Associates Degree in Health Information Management or presently enrolled in a Health Information Technology program or similar degree preferred
- Previous health-related experience working in an EHR preferred, EPIC or OnBase preferred
Responsibilities
- Participate in clinical data collection reviews to capture the facilities' compliance in documentation quality and completeness
- Complete quality control and indexing processes to ensure that all documentation is viewable in the EHR for continuity of patient care
- Ensure every page is accounted for in the correct patient's chart
- Identify and correct error(s) identified during the quality control review process and escalate issues to the HIM Technical Lead
- Rescan and upload any missing documents according to department procedures
