About The Position

The HIM Systems Analyst conceptualizes, designs, implements, supports and maintains assigned business system processes and workflows. Implements, maintains and supports HIM standards, to meet the business needs of Intermountain Heath, drives identification of system workflow requirements for document management. Identifies areas of improvements and processes through data analysis and designs innovative solutions. Typically designs and develops approaches that are implemented by others. Essential Functions Works collaboratively with cross functional teams including Medical Group Clinics and other outpatient clinic departments on the education, implementation, and management of HIM standards within the clinic setting. Provides training and auditing of HIM standards and related HIM functions. Provides reporting and feedback to clinics regarding HIM standards and reports back to clinic leadership. Works closely with clinic operations to meet standards. Provides operational and implementation support for clinic acquisitions and denovos. Collects and documents business requirements and business needs, works closely with HIM Systems Analysts to implement identified business needs. • Liaise between various business departments and groups and effectively communicate and manage stakeholder engagement. • Maintain documentation regarding various projects, processes, and operations. • Monitors HIM processes in the clinic setting and recommends process improvements.

  • Associate degree in Health Information Technology or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Informatics, or healthcare related field from an accredited institution preferred. Education is verified.
  • Demonstrated experience with technical HIM or HIM Information Management required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Availability to travel is required.
  • Sitting for long periods of time.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.
  • Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers require caregiver to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
  • For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

  • RHIT/RHIA Certification preferred.
