About The Position

HIM Audit coordinator is responsible for management, organizing, tracking, coordination, response and follow up of payment audit requests. Ensuring compliance, accuracy, and data integrity. Prepare and compile documentation, send records, ensure delivery and work with directly with requestors. Also, works closely with other team members within the HIM department, clinical and PFS department. Strong analytical, communication, organization and problem-solving abilities. Degree in Health information management or related field preferred. Coding, auditing or HIM experience preferred.

Requirements

  • Skills: Attention to detail: Must have strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
  • Must be able to communicate in English language through verbal, written, and reading skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • High level of multitasking ability
  • Ability to prioritize in fast-paced environment.
  • Computer proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft office suite
  • Problem-solve: Ability to identify problems, troubleshoot issues and find solutions.
  • Healthcare Knowledge: Familiarity with medical terminology and HIM functions preferred.
  • Will be required to reach 7 to 8 feet (may use step stool) and bend low (4-6 inches from the floor) to retrieve charts.
  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Occasionally must be able to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Education: Medical Secretary Certification or Health Information Management courses preferred.
  • Experience: HIM, Coding or Auditing experience preferred.

  • Degree in Health information management or related field preferred.

  • Healthcare Knowledge: Familiarity with medical terminology and HIM functions preferred.
