By joining our Owensboro Section as a Highway Technician II in Daviess County, you’ll have the opportunity to operate advanced equipment including but not limited to bulldozers, excavators, lowboys, snow plows, crew lead, learn to oversee resurfacing projects, monitor mowing contractors, and more. Summary of Responsibilities: Equipment operations: operate advanced equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, and tandem trucks Crew leader: ensure proper work zone set ups, oversee the work of crew members Traffic control: flag traffic for maintenance crews during operations to guarantee the safety of team members and the public. Snow removal; effectively operate snowplows and salt spreaders to clear roadways during winter weather conditions. Work in all types of weather and as a team, and work emergency call outs as needed. Requirements

High school graduate.
Must have eight years of construction or highway maintenance experience.
Must be 18 years of age.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a Class A commercial driver's license with tanker endorsement to qualify for employment in this job classification.
The employee must successfully complete the KYTC Highway Technician Academy Level 3 or equivalent within one year of employment in this job classification.
Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this classification.

Nice To Haves
