Employees will perform varied manual labor work on highways within Marathon County. Employees usually work Monday through Thursday, typically between 40 - 50 hours per week. Work duties may extend into the fall or winter depending upon availability of seasonal employees and the needs of the department. Summer 2026 - Anticipated season begins mid May and runs through the summer. The Highway Department hires a limited number of seasonal employees for the summer months.
