About The Position

The Edwardsville, IL Office of Modjeski and Masters is seeking a Highway Design Engineer with at least 5 years of related experience As a Highway Design Engineer with Modjeski and Masters, you will work on a variety of challenging and rewarding engineering projects for a myriad of transportation clients. As a member of our team, you'll be immediately responsible for performing engineering tasks under the careful supervision of established and respected professionals. You'll have opportunities to interact directly with clients, become a valued partner on a variety of high-impact projects, and apply fresh insights at every stage of a bridge's life cycle. Many of our projects result in new techniques and new standards for everyone else to follow.

Requirements

Mid-level engineer with at least 5 years of related experience in the design and development of transportation projects.
A minimum of a BS degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited College or University with an emphasis on Highway/Transportation Design
Good oral and written communication skills, with a fluency in English.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

Professional Engineer license in IL or MO is preferred, or eligible to take the exam.
MicroStation/AutoCAD experience with OpenRoads/Civil 3D proficiency, scheduling experience are pluses.
IDOT and/or MoDOT experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Coordinate with technical staff in performing a variety of non-structural engineering tasks, including the development of plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
Highway Design, including but not limited to roadway geometrics, drainage, pavement design, permanent signage, intersections, and work zone traffic control.
Perform additional duties as assigned, including occasional field assignments and assistance with statements of interest and technical/price proposals.
Strong organizational skills to prioritize and perform highway related tasks for multiple projects; IDOT and/or MoDOT experience is preferred.
Familiarity with plan preparation, including roadway, traffic control, signing & pavement marking, erosion & sediment control, utility, and cross sections.
