About The Position

Cross Country Education is seeking a passionate Special Education Teacher to support a high-impact classroom in Hawthorne, CA for the remaining 2025 - 2026 school year. Position Overview: Lead a high school classroom of approximately 15 students, delivering core academic instruction (ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies) for four periods a day while coordinating with a team of four paraeducators. Provide standards-based lessons, utilizing the N2Y/Unique Learning System (ULS) curriculum, that focus on basic academics alongside essential daily living, recreational, and pre-employment skills. Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), ensuring all academic and non-academic accommodations are met and utilizing automated tools for precise progress tracking. Facilitate student success during general education periods and planning for post-secondary transition (up to age 21), fostering independence and community integration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Valid Education Specialist Instruction Credential (Moderate/Severe or Extensive Support Needs
  • EL Certification (CLAD/BCLAD) required

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Special Education (Preferred)
  • Previous experience with Unique Learning System (ULS) and SymbolStix (Highly Preferred)
