About The Position

Transform lives in the heart of Chicago, IL ! Cross Country Education is looking for a talented Paraprofessional for a premier High School Charter program starting this February. Join our team in the West Town area and lead the way in re-engaging high school students, breaking down barriers to education, and helping at-risk youth find their path to success for the 2025-2026 school year! Position Overview: Assist in delivering instruction to high school students with mild-to-moderate disabilities, ensuring all accommodations are met according to individual learning plans. Implement and document students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with the SPED team; support staff in maintaining a safe, structured, and consistent learning environment. Adapt instructional support in real-time to meet students where they are, navigating challenges like learning deficits and socio-economic barriers with empathy and creativity. Collaborate with staff to re-engage high-risk students, including those with histories of truancy, by helping mitigate barriers such as homelessness and learning deficits.

Requirements

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Paraprofessional Endorsement (Required)
  • Note: Short-Term or Substitute Licenses are not eligible for consideration for this specific role

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience within a large urban public school district or charter environment; high school level experience (Strongly Preferred)
  • Proven ability to remain adaptable and composed in high-pressure environments, paired with a career-long dedication to serving urban student populations
