The High School Intern Clinical position operates under close supervision and mentorship of clinical or professional staff. The intern undertakes one or more assigned activities and/or projects of a fixed duration, requiring a basic degree of knowledge and skill within a defined area. Duties may vary based on assignment and location of work, such as front desk, patient care, or supply rooms. This role provides the student with exposure to multiple clinical/hospital settings and various roles within a healthcare environment. Children's Wisconsin is the region's only independent healthcare system dedicated solely to the health and well-being of children, offering a wide range of care and support from routine care to life-saving treatments, in partnership with The Medical College of Wisconsin.

Responsibilities

  • Performs general administrative and clinical/hospital duties.
  • Utilizes software or equipment to compile healthcare data and support department initiatives or patient care.
  • Performs preparation, cleaning and restocking of patient areas.
  • Completes special duties as assigned, assisting with special events, initiatives or department projects.
  • Contributes to a safe work environment.
  • Provides care appropriate to patient population and as described in applicable policies and procedures.
