About The Position

Aug Prep is more than a school, it's a community where excellence, faith, and holistic education come together. We’re not only about high standards but also creating a place where people love to grow, learn, and inspire! We currently serve over 2,400 K4-12 students in our ninth year at our South Campus. We are thrilled to launch our North Campus in the 26-27 school year, initially serving about 300 students in grades K4-6 and 9. In This Role, The Fellow will have several opportunities to be prepared to transition to a lead teacher position within two years. A Fellow Teacher will work closely with the Administration at their school level to develop, plan, and prepare lessons alongside the lead teachers. The Fellow Teacher will work in connection with the lead teachers in the classroom to teach, re-teach, provide small-groups, or support in other ways in a variety of classrooms. The Fellow Teacher will serve as the school level sub and provide sub coverage for daily absences. The Fellow Teacher may also be requested to cover for staff who have an extended leave. Fellows will cover a variety of academic subjects based on the needs of the school and the skillset of the employee.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to support students at various skill levels
  • Lastly and most important, the candidate must demonstrate and possess the highest integrity, and be able to live the values, beliefs, and culture of St. Augustine Prep.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the school level sub and provide coverage for daily absences and/or extended absences.
  • Plan and execute highly engaging and academically rigorous lessons for the school level he/she is assigned.
  • Seek out opportunities to integrate Biblical truth with their lessons.
  • Have bi-weekly meetings with an instructional coach/ Admin and implement feedback to improve their practice.
  • Implement curriculum and activities to ensure that their students meet academic benchmarks and grade-level standards.
  • Use academic data to modify both whole and small-group instruction in order to best meet the needs of their students
  • Support with intervention/acceleration periods for the school level he/she is assigned.
  • Work with instructional aides, lead teachers, and parent/community volunteers.
  • Build trusting relationships with students so each child feels known, seen and loved.
  • Serve as the cultural and spiritual model for their students, always interacting respectfully and striving to demonstrate God’s love to their students and families.
  • Support students’ character development by modeling and reinforcing the Aug Prep Way: serving in love with integrity, respect, courage and perseverance.
  • Communicate proactively and consistently with students, families, and colleagues, providing frequent updates on student progress, classroom activities, and school initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively and supportively with colleagues, supervisors, students, parents/guardians, and community members, maintaining positive, solution-oriented relationships that foster a strong, inclusive environment for optimal learning.
  • Continuously seek professional growth through building and department meetings/professional development, formal coursework, workshops, and seminars/in-services.
  • Help with arrival, lunch, recess, and dismissal duties.
  • Support the school by completing other tasks as assigned.
  • Serve with a flexible, open heart that recognizes no duty is outside the scope of your role--we are a team that is stronger together in service of our students. The first few years of our school you may be asked to serve outside of your roll or area. We are looking for someone who is ready to roll up their sleeves and help in any way needed.
