About The Position

High-Pressure Die Casting Equipment Specialist Site: Sheboygan, WI — Onsite (Union) — Gardner Denver Thomas, 1419 Illinois Ave., Sheboygan, WI 53081 Hours: Third shift, Sunday 11:00 p.m. kickoff to Friday 7:00 a.m. wrap (11:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.) Are You the Night-Shift Problem Solver We Need? Can you walk up to a hot or cold chamber die casting cell, assess die condition, and bring it to spec with confidence? Do you thrive where precision, safety, and speed intersect—verifying setups with your Supervisor or Group Leader and then keeping parts within tolerance all night long? If so, you’ll feel right at home on our team. What Success Looks Like Own the setup and operation of assigned die casting machines to meet quality, uptime, and output goals. Swap dies safely, align and secure them, and dial in machine settings to hit process windows. Continuously inspect parts and the die’s condition; act early to prevent defects. Set up and tune supporting equipment—ladle, auto-spray, robotics, and trim press—when the job calls for it. Follow the gauging/part-check routine on schedule; keep accurate records. Work from Process Sheets and verbal guidance; collaborate with maintenance as needed to resolve issues.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical diploma a plus.
  • At least 1 year in a die casting environment.
  • Capable of reading/writing and interpreting simple drawings; strong communicator.
  • Comfortable taking verbal direction and operating within a team-focused, safety-first culture.
  • Physically active role with standing, walking, bending, and stooping; heavier material handling during setups.
  • Capability to lift/push/pull/carry: 5 lbs constantly, 35 lbs frequently, 75 lbs occasionally.
  • Expect heat, dirt, grease, fumes, and noise exceeding 85 dB at times (hearing protection required when exposure exceeds 85 dB).
  • Potential hazards include cuts, burns, and bruises—mitigated through PPE (goggles and heavy gloves) and safe work habits.
  • Use of hand tools (wrenches, mallet, chisel, screwdriver), hoists, and hand/powered lift trucks to move and install dies.
  • Equipment: Die Cast Machine (Cold Chamber) and Die Cast Machine (Hot Chamber)
