About The Position

The Health Information Support Specialist II provides a variety of administrative support to the Health Information Department. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Essential functions are duties which are primary to the position. An individual must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. The essential functions of this position are: 1. Review and process all Record Requests and provide the correlating documentation within the EHR 2. Provides coverage for HI Office Managers and other Health Information Specialist as applicable. 3. Manage and work all NextGen auditing and billing reports as requested 4. Works directly with the clinical teams to ensure that NextGen reporting errors are corrected and submitted within the required time frame 5. Maintains all HI supplies by working with Facilities 6. Manage all assigned clinical staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage 7. Scans and files clinically relevant documents into EHR 8. Maintains a program roster that tracks longevity of stay and bed availability 9. Manage all assigned client schedules to ensure proper utilization of services (UM management) to match LOC 10. Completes client intakes as needed SECONDARY FUNCTIONS Secondary functions are duties, which are not exclusive of the position and can be performed by other positions; however, secondary duties are to be performed for the efficiency of The Counseling Center, Inc. 1. Provides Urine Drug Testing as requested by the HI Coordinator 2. Bills out Urine Drug Tests within the EHR as requested by the HI Coordinator 3. Picks up positive urine samples from all sites and processes for lab pick up 4. Provides backup support for the Health Information Department as requested 5. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in an office setting of a least one (1) year preferred and/or formal secretarial training including computer experience
  • Knowledge/skill regarding office practices and procedures
  • Skill in operating office machinery with speed and accuracy
  • Ability in the area of effective communication and interpersonal skills with public and co-workers
  • Demonstrates appropriate understanding of working with confidential material and situations
  • Ability to understand and assimilate new information quickly

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge about the disease of alcohol addiction preferred
