About The Position

Full-Time, Day Shift, Steppingstones (SSOP). JOB SUMMARY The Health Information Support Specialist I provides a variety of administrative support to the Health Information Department. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Essential functions are duties which are primary to the position. An individual must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. The essential functions of this position are: Review and process all Record Requests and provide the correlated documentation within the EHR. Provides Urine Drug Testing as requested by the HI Coordinator. Bills out Urine Drug Tests within the HER as requested by the HI Coordinator. Scans and files all clinically relevant documentation into the EHR. Picks up positive urine samples from all sites and processes for lab pick up. Maintains all HI supplies by working with Facilities. Collects agency mail and dispenses as applicable. SECONDARY FUNCTIONS Secondary functions are duties, which are not exclusive of the position and can be performed by other positions; however, secondary duties are to be performed for the efficiency of The Counseling Center, Inc. Provides back-up support for the Health Information Department as requested. Other duties as assigned. COMPETENCIES Knowledge/skill regarding office practices and procedures. Skill in operating office machinery with speed and accuracy. Ability in effective communication and interpersonal skills with public and co-workers. Demonstrates appropriate understanding of working with confidential material and situations. Ability to understand and assimilate new information quickly.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior experience in an office setting of a least one (1) year preferred and/or formal secretarial training including computer experience
  • Knowledge about the disease of alcohol addiction preferred

Responsibilities
