Requirements
- Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
- Must have a current NY HHA certificate with evidence of ongoing in-service education to maintain the certificate.
- Compassionate and a desire to help others
- Have excellent communication skills.
- Be dependable and trustworthy.
- Maintain compliance and training with with all agency and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Able to lift, turn and transfer clients
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Provide direct care according to the established client plan of care.
Responsibilities
- Assures the maximum quality of life by helping maintain a healthy and safe environment.
- Assist with personal hygiene, toileting, dressing, walking and feeding the client and other ADLS
- Light housekeeping and laundry
- Assist with certain treatments and therapy as ordered by the physician and approved by the nursing supervisor.
- Medication reminders
- Use medical supplies and equipment as per care plan
- Provide emotional support and develop a trusting relationship with client
- Encourage client independence.
