Seeking talent near: Seattle, WA; San Francisco, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Portland, OR; Salt Lake City, UT The HEOR Field Director will provide coverage and build relationships with Managed Care, Payers, Societies, and other Medical Access Influencers. They will also be involved in field based Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) related activities. Demonstrates knowledge of HEOR and all clinical and scientific data for our product(s); nurtures deep relationships with key experts and drives the adoption of tools and techniques for the safe and effective use of our products.

Requirements

  • PharmD, M.D., Ph.D, or other recognized doctorate level education with supporting applicable health science background. Additional advanced degree in epidemiology (MPH), economics (MBA) and/or health services is highly desired
  • Minimum of 5 years of total successful previous related field medical or comparable experiences addressing scientific and clinical issues of policy in a Managed care, Market Access, Medicare or Medicaid-related role
  • Minimum of 4 years post professional degree practice or relevant transferable experience (clinical practice, academic research, regulatory/scientific)
  • Exhibited ability to operate within appropriate legal and regulatory guidelines
  • Scientific and pharmaceutical knowledge and/or experience
  • Strong team, leadership, planning and written/verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation and teaching skills
  • Ability to learn and convey clinical and non-clinical technical information effectively
  • Ability to work successfully with a wide number of personality styles and management practices
  • Proven ability to work within an MSL team
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships
  • Requires approximately 60% travel so must be relatively close to a major airport

Nice To Haves

  • Specialized training in HEOR such as Outcomes Research Fellowship is preferred and may also be considered as equivalent of managed market medical experience
  • Previous experience leading, designing, and managing field or HQ based HEOR studies is highly desired
  • Experience with health plan drug utilization decision-making (e.g. Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, Guideline Panels) is highly desired
  • Experience and knowledge of government and private payer relationships, direct experience in a payer environment is strongly preferred
  • Experience in communicating the results of health outcomes research and economic models

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with reimbursement and managed market teams to help educate the payer and market access community on disease and treatment
  • Works closely with Account Managers (AM’s) to ensure information needs of healthcare professionals and associated plans are met. Manages assigned Key Customer Accounts and customer interface of assigned National and Regional affiliate accounts.
  • Manages the ongoing scientific dialogue with the Managed Care audience as it relates to clinical information, scientific discussions, and health outcomes research for all Acadia therapies
  • Works with key customers, opinion leaders and assists internal collaborators and TA Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) in interpretation of key scientific data to support policy decision-makers
  • Prepares and delivers fair balanced and comprehensive responses to clinical and scientific concerns of Population Health Decision makers (managed care, Medicare or Medicaid, plan medical and pharmacy directors, and related collaborators)
  • Facilitates education and HEOR account related activities regarding current and new therapies developed and commercialized by the company
  • Collaborates with in-house HEOR team on HEOR strategies and related activities such as database analysis and vendor proposals that demonstrate and contribute to the medical value of Acadia’s portfolio of therapies
  • Demonstrates ability to develop and deliver HEOR collaborations with population health decision makers and has demonstrated experience and accomplishments as evidenced by a history of HEOR related publications and projects
