We are actively seeking qualified Internal Medicine physicians to serve as academic hematology nocturnist hospitalist for the Division of Hematology and Oncology. You will be part of a robust clinical team and engaged faculty and will be a part of one of the Nation’s First NCI Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. Enjoy a great work-life balance with 10-14 shifts per month or the equivalent of working 21 weeks of inpatient service per year, providing direct patient care (including admissions) as well as supervising and teaching advanced practice providers and trainees (fellows and residents). Part-time positions are available for highly qualified candidates. To integrate with the team and faculty, the position will spend approximately 4 weeks on the day service every year. The learning environment and support make this an ideal opportunity for a physician interested in a Hematology and Oncology Fellowship or a physician wanting an excellent work-life balance with a potential physician-leadership opportunity. The hematology hospitalist must be able to competently care for the hospitalized patient throughout the hospital stay. This includes emergency evaluation and triage in addition to admission to the hospital and formation of a differential diagnosis. The hospitalist must interact in a professional manner with all members of the patient care team. The hospitalist physician should participate in education of the house staff physicians, students, nurses and all members of the patient care team. Hospitalists will support clinical trials where applicable in the inpatient setting, while collaborating with other clinicians across the system.
