About The Position

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the UAB Heersink School of Medicine invites applications for a full-time faculty position. This open-rank, open-tenure-status appointment seeks a board-certified or board-eligible orthopaedic surgeon (MD or equivalent) with expertise in sports medicine, with an interest in hip arthroscopy. The faculty will be involved in clinical work, the education of residents and fellows, research, and coverage of high school, collegiate, and professional athletic events. Academic rank, salary, and tenure status will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and qualifications. Requirements

MD (or equivalent) degree
Board-certified or board-eligible in orthopaedic surgery
Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Alabama
Completion of an accredited orthopaedic surgery fellowship
Demonstrated clinical expertise and a commitment to excellence in patient care
Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient interactions
Dedication to the education and mentorship of resident physicians
