About The Position

As a Nurse Abstractor, you will conduct chart abstraction for HEDIS (Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set) measures. This includes abstraction, review, and reporting of medical record clinical documentation into a data collection tool to evaluate the quality of care provided to Medicaid members. You will play a critical role in ensuring timely and accurate abstraction that will be used to evaluate Medicaid program quality.

Requirements

RN or LPN
Five years of experience preferred, working in direct collaboration with providers, population health, or public health, and/or health care quality improvement
Experience with chart-based HEDIS measure abstraction
Experience with overread processes
Familiarity with the chart measure request process and health care settings
Effective communication - both written and verbal
Experience working in a virtual environment

Information management processes, electronic health records, and healthcare information technology

Responsibilities

Facilitate activities to ensure timely and accurate chart abstraction on patient medical records for a set of eight HEDIS measures, including clinical review, administrative support, and quality assurance
Collaborate with the abstraction team to ensure that plans, tasks, and timelines meet contractual and Company requirements and guidelines
Provide regular updates to Company management on the activity and/or status of abstraction
Participate in activities to ensure high-quality abstraction, including participation in training, weekly clinical review, and overreading
Communicate directly with healthcare organizations to request follow-up medical record information as needed and ensure the timeliness and completeness of medical records
