About The Position

Looking for a hands-on leadership opportunity in a dynamic logistics environment? QSL America is a leading provider of port logistics solutions across North America. We are currently seeking a Lead Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic to support our maintenance operations at our New Orleans terminal. This position blends technical field work with leadership responsibilities, working on critical heavy equipment used in high-volume cargo handling. About the New Orleans Terminal: Located along the Mississippi River at the Port of New Orleans—one of the nation’s busiest trade corridors—our team supports 24/7 cargo operations. We maintain a culture of safety, reliability, and continuous improvement while working with large-scale material handling equipment.

Requirements

5+ years of heavy equipment maintenance experience; prior lead or supervisory experience is an asset
Strong technical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical diagnostics
Experience using CMMS systems (Maximo preferred)
Valid driver’s license; TWIC card required or ability to obtain
Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, overtime, and emergency call-outs

Experience using CMMS systems (Maximo preferred)

Responsibilities

Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy mobile equipment (including forklifts, cranes, and loaders)
Plan, track, and document maintenance activities using our CMMS system (Maximo)
Assist with vendor coordination and parts procurement
Ensure compliance with safety procedures, ISO standards, and HSSE requirements
Coach, support, and mentor junior maintenance team members
