About The Position

We're expanding and have an exceptional opportunity for a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our construction team. This role focuses on operating heavy construction equipment, including excavators and dozers, with a strong emphasis on wastewater treatment plant construction. About the Role As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for the safe operation and upkeep of various equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, lulls, loaders, forklifts, and skid steers. Your experience in water and wastewater construction will be crucial as you perform tasks such as excavating, laying pipe, moving, and grading dirt. You'll ensure safety, productivity, and quality, while also assisting in Carpenter, Laborer, or Pipe Laborer roles when equipment is not in use. Your expertise in trenching, excavations, and process piping will be a significant asset to our projects. Why Choose Dugan & Meyers? Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of heavy construction equipment operation experience
  • Proven experience in water and wastewater construction.
  • Strong ability to operate a variety of heavy machinery safely and effectively

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy construction equipment such as excavators, dozers, bulldozers, backhoes, lulls, loaders, forklifts, and skid steer loaders.
  • Perform tasks including excavating, laying pipe, moving, and grading dirt.
  • Work with a variety of process piping in different construction settings.
  • Perform trenching and excavations, ensuring the use of trench boxes for safety and compliance with regulations.
  • Assist in meeting production goals and maintaining safety standards.
  • Operate equipment in accordance with corporate safety programs and manufacturers' specifications.
  • When equipment is not in use, work in Carpenter, Laborer, or Cement Finisher roles according to skills and under the direction of the Supervisor.
  • Discuss plans for the day's work with the field manager, review blueprints if necessary, and determine the best method to complete assigned work safely, accurately, and on time.
