About The Position

The Driver / Operator - Lead position is located on the North Slope and requires two weeks on/ two weeks off rotational work schedule. The typical schedule is 84 hours per week (40 hours straight time and a minimum of 44 hours at time and a half), with opportunities to work additional hours, depending on business demands. All PPE is provided except for steel or composite toed boots. All meals and lodging are provided by Worley while the employee is on location. Relocation assistance to Alaska is not provided; however, transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided. Job Purpose: Routinely operates Potable Water (150-200 BBL Trailered units) and Wastewater trucks (90-325 BBL Vacuum Trucks) and other assorted Fluids hauling equipment and provides day-to-day supervision and technical direction to work crews. The position is expected to perform a daily round trip to site, while utilizing a pool truck to perform other on-site tasks and be available to assist other team members in the field.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years’ experience in operating various types of equipment is required.
  • Valid Class A CDL driver’s license with Tanker and HazMat endorsements and ability to be insured by Worley’s auto insurer required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
  • Current CDL/DOT medical card required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides day-to-day supervision and technical direction to work crews.
  • Maintain equipment in good/clean working order.
  • Continually verify volumes on site are balanced properly to prevent overfill.
  • Monitor monthly Potable Water testing to ensure equipment stays in compliance.
  • Routinely check fittings, hoses, trucks and associated equipment for cleanliness and organization.
  • Examines work, equipment assignments and materials for compliance with specifications.
  • Communicates with all camp maintenance contacts to ensure proper delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Regularly communicate with Dispatch, Specialty Division Lead and Foreman to maximize efficiency with route planning and travel times.
  • Performs craft job duties as required.
  • Acts as mentor and provides training and feedback to team members and new employees.
  • Adheres to Work Execution Plan expectations for work acceptance and planning, execution and close out.
  • Positively reinforces safe work practices by providing daily recognition to team members.
  • Routinely performs safety and productivity observations; shop, field, and vehicle inspections; and is required to attend various components of technical, developmental and safety training.
  • Promotes a safety culture that supports and encourages employees to go beyond the call of duty to identify unsafe conditions and behaviors and are comfortable intervening to correct inappropriate behaviors and concerns. Champions voluntary safety programs.
  • Adheres to all North slope and Worley health, safety and environment policies and procedures always.
  • Assigns work in accordance with work management processes and ensures the safe execution of work within the planned and approved scope, and job plan.
  • Initiates and maintains positive working relationships with client representatives and other internal and external customers to facilitate project activities, understands current and future customer needs and continually strives to exceed customer expectations.
  • Complete pre and post trip inspections of trucks/trailers/equipment per DOT and company requirements.
  • Complete a task hazard assessment IFWA (Incident Free Work Assessment) prior to starting any job.
  • Safely secure all loads.
  • Maintain the ability to determine ullage of tank and be able to calculate required volumes as needed.
  • Routinely connect/disconnect 3” 30’ hose to offload and loading locations as necessary.
  • Pull multiple strings of 3” hose for making up connections up to 100’ in length.
  • Safely back tractor/trailer into position while utilizing a spotter or cone as a point of reference.
  • Be able to safely guide others while spotting into various locations.
  • Maintain communications with foremen, dispatch, and clients when necessary.
  • Attend various components of developmental and safety training.
  • The position is required to perform physical labor when equipment operations are not necessary.
