Heavy Equipment Mechanic/Welder Are you looking to join a company where you'll work with new, top of the line heavy equipment? Wallenius Wilhelmsen is seeking Heavy Equipment Mechanic/Welder at our equipment processing center in Brunswick, GA. Join Our Team today! Starting rate is $28.50, depending on experience. Job Description WHAT YOU'LL DO Working knowledge of various mechanical and technical systems, and the physical ability to apply this knowledge in a hands on manner Complete all documents associated with the job including work orders. Apply practical knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines and associated systems. MIG weld when needed Troubleshoot and perform diagnostics on various systems for the purpose of disassembly, repair, and reassembly. Use various test equipment, hand tools, and measuring equipment. Read and understand schematics and prints. Operate heavy construction equipment and forklifts. Lift overhead 50 pounds and climb to/work at heights of up to 15 feet. Complete a full workday walking and/or standing. Work outside in all reasonable weather conditions. Conduct work responsibilities while exposed to dirt, dust, and fumes from the operation of construction equipment, cranes, forklifts, etc.

Requirements

  • Must supply own basic shop tools
  • Must have a current valid driver's license
  • Steel-toed boots/shoes
  • High School education or demonstrated ability to interpret plans and directions to execute duties listed above and to provide written requests for materials, technical assistance, and for the completion of work orders or other job-related forms, requests, or evaluations.
  • Knowledge with observing and listening to operating equipment to determine malfunctions.
  • Proficiency in the use of basic hand tools including but not limited to hammers, saws, wrenches and pliers, torque wrenches, and air powered equipment.
  • Knowledge of mechanical devices, and tools, including designs, uses, benefits, repair, and maintenance.
  • Completing a full workday walking and/or standing
  • Maintain regular attendance as may be required for the position.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of this position.
  • Must pass post-offer drug screen and background check as a condition of hire.
