About The Position

Technica LLC seeks to recruit for the position of Heavy Equipment Mechanic QC Lead Inspector on a Government contract with a place of performance at Fort Bliss, TX. Position Summary: Assists the Supervisor in managing the quality inspection department for military and civilian equipment (inspections, services and repairs) using Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS­Army). Account for inspectors' man-hours and input into GCSS-Army daily. Assists conducting research on repair parts (materials) in the military systems. Assists on requesting quotes from venders. Assists enforcing safety and environmental standards in conjunction with maintenance operations. Assists enforcing following the maintenance manuals, regulations, policies, and PWS. Ensures all physical security is maintained in the quality department section. Needs to have the ability to issue out work to their personnel and ensure a productive section. Assist in providing quotes to customers as requested. Provide technical guidance to the quality department section as needed. Performs initial, in progress and final inspections exclusively on U.S. military vehicles, their associated trailers and MHE systems such as but not limited to: the newly inducted Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JL TVs), High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWVs), Palletized Load Systems (PLSs), Light Medium Tactical Vehicles (LMTVs), Medium Tactical Vehicle (MTVs), High Mobility Engineer Excavator Type I (HMEE-I), 120M Motor Graders and D7RII Mine Clearing Armor Protection Vehicles (MCAs). Responsible for identifying the necessary materials required to service and/or repair equipment; to included recording these requirements on applicable documents. Calculate all man-hours for maintenance repairs to be performed IAW the Maintenance Allocation Chart (MAC) to include other relevant maintenance procedures. Inspect, troubleshoot and repair, very complexed wiring systems, hydraulics, transmissions, engines, air and hydraulic brakes systems. Conducts final inspections on equipment verifying all work performed was completed to standards as well as work orders for accuracy before the equipment is ready for Government Quality Assurance inspection. Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve unusually complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers manuals or similar documents. Utilizes hand tools, diagnostic tools, complex computers systems for advanced diagnostics. Utilizes automated maintenance management systems to provide maintenance information to customers. Operates materiel handling equipment (MHE) as required. Performs other duties assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements

  • GCSS-Army experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Proficient in using EMS-NG and the Army Enterprise Portal (AESIP).
  • Experienced with the Maintenance Allocation Chart (MAC) in order to task work orders using GCSS­Army.
  • Possess a comprehensive knowledge of military vehicles and/or construction equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to locate locally procured parts in a timely manner.
  • Knowledge in completing necessary documentation such as DA Forms 2404/5988E Equipment Inspection and Maintenance Worksheet, DA Form 2407 Maintenance Request, DA Form 2407-1 Maintenance Request Continuation Sheet, DA Form 7723 Maintenance Expenditure Limit Waiver, DA Form 461-5 Vehicle Classification Inspection, and other applicable DA/DoD forms.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks related to the position
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Must be a US Citizen or US permanent resident for more than 3 years.
  • Must have 5+ years' maintenance experience repairing military vehicles or heavy construction equipment.
  • Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions to include intense heat, heavy wind, blowing sand.
  • Able to function with a basic level of English oral and written language skills.
  • Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Able to pick up and move items within a 50 lbs. restriction with a frequent or constant lifting of 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to climb on equipment in order to perform inspections of engines, transmissions and other vehicle components.
  • Capable of climbing and working on equipment at 10 feet above ground limit.
  • Capable of using and understanding Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Able to work past normal hours as mission dictates.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior military experience in Military Occupational Skill (MOS) 638, 63S, 63D or 91 B.
  • Defense contracting experience inspecting and ordering repair parts for military equipment.
