The Heavy Equipment Lube Service Technician is responsible for performing required equipment lubrication and maintenance operations at client job sites. This role involves inspecting equipment professionally and selling lubrication services when necessary. Key functions include performing field lubrication and inspection with a focus on safety, accuracy, and economy, planning and controlling lube and preventative maintenance jobs, and assisting leads in analyzing client requirements. The technician will also alert other departments about potential business opportunities, ensure trucks are properly maintained, and foster good client relations. Accurate equipment condition reports and service reports, including oil quantities and types, are essential. All lube services must strictly follow CAT Lube and Maintenance Guides, including proper warm-up and sample drop procedures. Maintaining company equipment in good condition and reporting repair needs to the supervisor is also required. The technician must work safely at all times and adhere to all company policies and standards. Additional responsibilities include keeping in-house personnel informed about service dates and machine conditions, gathering and communicating inspection information to clients and management, maintaining a current MSHA card if required, providing on-the-job training, working overtime, and traveling to remote locations as needed. Effective communication with colleagues to clarify instructions and discuss job progress is also part of the role, as is promoting corporate values.
