Dobbs Equipment is seeking an experienced Service Technician Welder. This position will be responsible for designs, repairing equipment, fixtures, and fabrications. This job description does not include a complete listing of all the duties and functions of the position. Management reserves the right to assign other duties or projects as necessary. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. (Other duties may be assigned) Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments while maintaining a safe work environment and safe work habits. Perform any inspections as required. Check and report any shortages and malfunctions to the Service Manager. Maintain records and account for all time, parts, and supplies used in repairing and servicing both customer and dealership equipment. Handle customer problems both objectively and tactfully. Responsible for welding to include line boring services (where applicable) Designs, fabricates, joins, and/or repairs equipment, fixtures and various types of metal objects and structures utilizing oxygen-acetylene, electric arc, MIG and TIG welding techniques Operates drill presses, power saws, grinders, metal lathes and a variety of welding equipment and hand tools Analyzes plans, drawings, work samples, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirements and sequence of welding projects Estimates material and labor Recommends supplies and materials to be ordered Perform all service tasks as assigned by the Service Manager, Supervisor, or Shop Foreman. Prepare all reports and forms required in conjunction with job assignments. Report to Service Manager any additional work required to ensure proper operation and safety of equipment. Participate in service training programs required for development of skills and knowledge. Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly fashion. Bring to the attention of the Service Manager any shop tools, equipment or vehicle that is not in a serviceable condition or is unsafe to use. Represent the dealership as a professional Service Technician at all times. Operate trucks and equipment with extreme care and caution. Maintain and care for shop tools, equipment, vehicles, and other employee’s belongings. Reports to work on time, as scheduled. Ability to work up to 12-hour days, varying shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed. Ability to operate company vehicles and follow all motor vehicle state safety laws (if necessary).
