About The Position

Stephenson Equipment, Inc. (SEI) is a regional leader in heavy equipment, cranes, paving, and municipal fleet support across PA, MD, DC, and NY. Our Public Works & Infrastructure division in Harrisburg is expanding, and we’re looking for a high-level Heavy Diesel & Hydraulics Technician with strong experience on large trucks, municipal equipment, hydraulic systems, and snow & ice control equipment for our Public Works and Infrastructure location in Harrisburg, PA. You will service and repair a wide range of heavy-duty and municipal equipment, including: Tandem-axle dump trucks, plow trucks, and spreader systems Diesel engines (Cummins, CAT, Detroit, etc.) Hydraulic systems, pumps, valves, cylinders, and PTO-driven equipment Road maintenance and public works machinery Heavy construction equipment and attachments Duties include, but are not limited to: Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and driveline components Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair snowplow systems, spreaders, and municipal truck upfits Perform advanced diagnostics using OEM software and computerized test equipment Rebuild and service hydraulic components, gear systems, and mechanical assemblies Overhaul and test equipment to peak performance and reliability Perform routine and preventative maintenance on heavy trucks and equipment Weld, fabricate, and repair structural components as needed Maintain accurate service records and communicate clearly with customers Operate heavy equipment and trucks for testing and verification Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements Strong background in heavy trucks, diesel engines, and hydraulic systems Total Compensation Includes: Competitive Pay Factory Training Tool Allowance Full Benefits Package 401k with Matching Paid Time Off Requirements Our Best fit will have: High School Diploma or GED Experience with municipal or public works equipment is a major plus Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams Solid troubleshooting skills mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs with assistance Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record Technical school certificate or equivalent hands-on experience Work performed will vary by each customer’s environment with moderate to loud noise levels. Temperatures vary from season to season. Job requires extended periods of standing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching depending on the machine that needs maintenance within the 8-10 hour work day. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
