About The Position

Skillforce has partnered with one of the leading demolition and excavation companies in the industry to find a Civil Construction Superintendent! We’re looking for a seasoned professional to immediately step into a leadership role on active civil construction projects in the Reading, PA area.

Position Overview

As a Civil Construction Superintendent, you will:

Lead field operations on heavy civil and underground utility projects
Supervise crews including foremen, operators, laborers, and subcontractors
Serve as the primary point of contact between field teams, clients, and internal stakeholders
Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in heavy civil construction (earthwork, utilities, concrete, and roadway)
• Proven team management and leadership skills
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
• Proficient with GPS grading platforms and site layout tools
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
• Valid driver’s license required
• Must be able to commute to or relocate to Reading, PA immediately

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of heavy equipment operation preferred

Responsibilities

• Oversee all daily on-site construction activities
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents
• Coordinate labor, equipment, and material deliveries
• Manage site grading and underground utility installation
• Utilize laser-guided instruments and GPS-based grading systems
• Conduct regular project progress checks and reports
• Enforce safety protocols and compliance with regulations
• Attend project meetings
