About The Position

Under general supervision, maintain, repair, and install A/C equipment for the district. Maintain and provide for the safe condition and operation of all A/C systems in district facilities.

Requirements

  • Valid EPA Certificate
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Valid Texas Driver's License
  • At least three years' experience in A/C work. Basic knowledge of codes and regulations related to this trade.
  • Knowledge of terminology, construction methods and materials related to this trade
  • Knowledge of local A/C codes Working knowledge of computer technology
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools and equipment related to this trade
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Knowledge of safety rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of reading plans and specifications
  • Knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS)
  • Ability to troubleshoot automation controls
  • Knowledge of proper electric wiring of automation system

Responsibilities

  • Provides assistance with work orders as needed.
  • Provides A/C according to specifications.
  • Use and secure district equipment in accordance to established procedures.
  • Maintain all equipment, tools, supplies, and school vehicle.
  • Test continuity of circuits to ensure compatibility, and safety of components using testing instruments.
  • Measure, cut, bend, and assemble using rulers, measuring devices and conduit bender.
  • Receive and complete work orders.
  • Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean.
  • Work with building principals and supervisors to complete projects.
  • Respond to emergency calls as needed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment.
  • Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
  • Ensure that all equipment is in safe operating condition.
  • Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing etc.
  • Report any safety conditions to supervisor or director of maintenance.
  • Follow district policies on professional conduct.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions from supervisors and department head.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by department head or supervisor.
  • Analyze problems and resolve issues to ensure overall system functions properly.
  • Complete service repairs, replacements, upgrades, adjustments and calibration on automation systems and components.
  • Tests and verifies system readings ensuring optimal system operation.
