About The Position

Fresno City College Desirable Qualifications Experience and skill incorporating elements of diversity, equity, and inclusion into all areas of responsibility; Recent experience working with African American, Asian/Pacific Islander, Latinx, Native American, and other racially minoritized students in the classroom and an understanding of how historical patterns of exclusion of these groups in higher education shape patterns of participation and outcomes; Willingness to examine and remediate one’s instructional, relational, and classroom practices to more effectively engage and support racially minoritized students; Related work and professional experience; Experience working with students of various cultural, gender, age, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds, students with disabilities; Demonstrated ability to work with computers, and other technologies, which are utilized in providing high-quality instruction and support to students; Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students and staff; Training and practical experience in all aspects of HVAC /R and Environmental Controls; Evidence of the ability to involve students in practical applications of instruction as it is related to the industry; Experience working with students of various ages and cultural, economic and educational backgrounds; Knowledge and experience in the development and assessment of student learning outcomes; Commitment to professional growth; Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing; Strong computer skills; Membership in professional HVAC /R organizations; Additional licenses and/or certifications including: EPA Section 608, Type 1 & 2; California Licensed Contractor C20 and/ or C38; North American Technician Excellence ( NATE ) Certification in the following areas: Air Conditioning; Heat Pumps; Gas Furnace; Air Distribution; Earned Refrigeration Service Engineers Society ( RSES ) status by passing the: Certificate Member Exam (CM) and/ or a Certificate Member Specialist Exam(s) ( CMS ); Refrigerating Engineers & Technicians Association ( RETA ), Certified Assistant Refrigeration Operator ( CARO ) and/ or Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator ( CIRO ); to a lesser extent, Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute ( ARI ) Industry Competency Exam ( ICE ) and/ or Energy Service Company ( ESCO ) entry-level technician examinations passed; and Knowledge of the community college and its mission and goals.
