About The Position

The Heat Treat Lab Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring that products meet stringent quality and safety standards. Their responsibilities encompass a range of tasks that are vital to maintaining product integrity and compliance with industry standards.

Requirements

  • Experience in cold forming and thread rolling
  • Blueprint reading & GD&T interpretation / measurement
  • Familiar with fastener quality requirements, strength classifications, thread classifications
  • Knowledge of carbon-based steels (1010-5039)
  • Intermediate computer skills, especially Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook
  • Able to pass a pre-employment, post-offer physical, drug screen
  • Able to pass a background check

Responsibilities

  • Conduct metallurgical analysis of samples including core hardness, surface hardness, and micro-Vickers testing
  • Evaluate samples for carbon pickup & de-carb, and structure review for Tempered martensite
  • Accurately record test results and maintain detailed laboratory records
  • Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment, adhering to safety Protocols
  • Work closely with production and engineering to address quality issues and implement improvements
  • Regularly assess furnace operation trends to ensure consistent quality
  • Analyze furnace data logs to detect any anomalies or deviations to maintain quality control and standardized operations
