Do you want the opportunity to make an impact in the lives of patients with heart failure? If the answer is yes, ChristianaCare may be the place for you. Given tremendous growth, our Advanced Heart Failure/Mechanical Circulatory Support Program is actively looking for an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team of 4 Heart Failure Physicians and 3 APC's . Our team strives to provide the highest level of care to this complex patient population. By joining our dedicated team, you will become a key team member who provides high level care in both the inpatient and outpatient clinical arenas at Christiana Hospital. With more than 2,000 primary heart failure discharges per year, you will have every opportunity to make a significant impact on the outcomes of our heart failure population. The NP/PA will also be required to maintain on-call coverage in a rotating call schedule with the other 3 APC’s for the LVAD program (must be within a 45 minute response time of the hospital while on call). Generous compensation for on-call coverage is provided. You will have the opportunity to continue to expand your knowledge through ongoing educational offerings including core lectures, M&M conferences, grand rounds, journal club and multidisciplinary meetings. Additionally, the hospital system provides an annual allowance for attendance at national conferences, allowing you to expand your knowledge of the most cutting edge research there is in the management of heart failure and LVAD patients. This allowance also can be used for maintaining licensure and certification fees. ChristianaCare is one of the top 10 busiest heart failure programs in the United States, providing unprecedented opportunities to care for heart failure patients not seen at any other hospital system in the State. You will have the opportunity to utilize cutting edge technology and health informatics to assist your clinical skills in providing outstanding care to a wide array of patients. As we look to change and improve how heart failure has been treated in the past, we have created innovative programs to enhance compliance/optimization of Guideline Directed Medical Therapy (GDMT) along with prevention of unnecessary early readmissions. These are just a couple of the key highlights of the work we do. As home to the only Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) program in Delaware, you will be part of the care team for this unique patient population from initial evaluation through post-op management, making a true difference in improving the lives of those we serve.
