The Regulatory Commission of Alaska is recruiting for a Hearing Examiner 1 position located in Anchorage! What you will be doing: The incumbent will manage and preside over complex and technical adversarial cases pending before the RCA involving multiple public utility industries including telecommunications, electric utilities, water and wastewater utilities, refuse, gas distribution and utility pipelines, involving difficult public policy issues which frequently lack clear precedent, and which have a significant impact on the Alaskan Economy. Jurisdiction includes certificates, rates, services, practices, consumer complaints, rules, and regulations in accordance with AS 42.05. Participate in the defense of RCA orders on appeal with the Superior or Supreme Court under the direction of the Chairman and the RCA´s Assistant Attorney General. The office is secluded and quiet, and the employee will have their own private work space. Most of the time is spent at your workstation because it is heavily computer dependent. The work pace varies as needs arise.
