About The Position

The Healthy Living Program Manager coordinates and grows high-quality fitness, community wellness, and chronic disease programs. This role supports staff, enhances the member experience, and ensures programs meet YMCA quality, safety, and inclusion standards.

Requirements

• CPR, First Aid, and AED certification
• National fitness/wellness certification (ACE, NASM, ACSM, AFAA, NETA, YMCA, or equivalent)
• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
• 2+ years in fitness, wellness, or chronic disease programming
• 1+ year of staff supervision or team leadership
• Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

Nice To Haves

• YMCA or health and wellness environment experience
• Experience with chronic disease programs (e.g., diabetes prevention, arthritis, cardiac, Parkinson’s, MS)
• YMCA Healthy Lifestyles certification or willingness to obtain

Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with members, participants, and community partners
• Coordinate, implement, and improve fitness and wellness programs
• Ensure program quality, safety, and accurate recordkeeping
• Recruit, train, schedule, and support program staff and instructors
• Lead or teach programs as needed
• Collaborate with marketing, membership, and community partners
• Participate in special events, outreach, and assigned evening/weekend duties
