About The Position

Healthy Living Program Coordinator II plays a key role in supporting the daily operations, programming, and staff leadership of the Healthy Living department. This position assists with planning and delivering high-quality programs, supervising and mentoring associates, maintaining participant records, and ensuring safety and risk management standards are met. The Coordinator also supports marketing efforts, special events, and serves as Director on Duty when scheduled—helping create a welcoming, well-run environment where members feel valued and supported. This position is part-time plus, working 30-34 hours weekly with evening and weekend availability needed. Requirements

  • Minimum of 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three years experience in healthy living industry.
  • ACE or AFAA Group Exercise Instructor certification and/or a personal training certification that is accredited through the National Commission for Certifying Agencies.
  • Adult and Pediatric FA/CPR/AED within 30 days of hire (free training available.
  • Must have good communication skills including phone skills.
  • Ability to make independent and sound decisions in a fast paced environment.
  • Highly organized, detail, and goal oriented.
  • Must be able to deal with a diverse group of people in a friendly and consistent manner.

Nice To Haves

  • One year supervision, preferred.
  • YMCA Group Exercise Instructor and/or YMCA Foundations of Strength and Conditioning preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Play an essential role in the planning, management, and execution of programs and activities across the department.
  • Help recruit, schedule, and mentor a team of talented associates.
  • Maintain records of program participants.
  • Assists in associate meetings.
  • Promptly report any safety concerns, maintenance needs, accidents, or injuries, ensuring a safe environment for all
  • Maintain knowledge of risk management policies and procedures, including Emergency Action Plans.
  • Provide support as Director on Duty when scheduled, ensuring operations run smoothly.
  • Assists and participates in marketing and special events.
  • Offer valuable input to help shape operational guidelines that enhance the Y’s overall impact and efficiency.
  • Handle all inquiries and concerns with a friendly and approachable demeanor, ensuring every individual feels valued and heard.
